Applications and curing

Manufacturer-listed applications include headers, collectors, exhaust manifolds, exhaust pipes, mufflers, turbo housings, and down pipes. VHT notes that the coating will not bond well to stainless pipes. Aluminized and galvanized pipes must be sand blasted and cleaned before application. The coating attains its specified properties only after correct curing. Follow the instructions printed on the can. VHT lists staged idle-and-cool cycles for on-vehicle curing and staged heating-and-cooling cycles for off-vehicle curing; the paint must be completely dry before curing.

Listing is for one 11 oz aerosol can of SP102 flat black coating only. Primer, optional clear coat, surface-preparation materials, and other tools or parts are not included. This is a highly flammable, pressurized aerosol. Keep away from heat, sparks, and open flames; do not spray toward an ignition source or puncture or burn the can. Use outdoors or with good ventilation, avoid breathing spray, and follow the product label and safety data sheet. Protect the can from sunlight and temperatures above 122°F (50°C), and keep it out of reach of children.
