SEM Hot Rod Black is a 2K single-stage matte black topcoat for properly prepared, primed surfaces, suitable for low-gloss accent stripes, hoods or entire vehicles. SEM describes it as durable and mar-resistant, with resistance to chalking and fading and colour retention.
- Kit contents: one quart Hot Rod Black, one half-pint Hot Rod Catalyst and one half-pint Hot Rod Reducer (1.5 quarts combined)
- Mix by volume: 4 parts black, 1 part catalyst and 1 part reducer
- Coverage: approximately 248 sq. ft. per gallon at 2 mils
- Pot life: 60 minutes at 70°F (21°C) and 50% relative humidity

Shipping: Orders placed before 11:00 AM Pacific Time on business days are handled the same business day. Free shipping within Canada on orders over C$200, excluding oversized/freight items; otherwise Canada Post and Purolator rates are calculated at checkout. Oversized/freight items ship at flat regional freight rates shown at checkout. Aerosols and other regulated items may have carrier restrictions. Returns: Eligible new, unused items in original packaging may be returned within 14 days of delivery with prior authorization. A 15% restocking fee and return shipping apply to non-defective returns. Spray equipment is returnable only if unused with its factory seal unbroken; used or installed spray equipment and custom-mixed paint are not returnable. All products carry their manufacturer's warranty; for a warranty claim, contact us with proof of the defect (photos, video and a description). See our Refund Policy.
